Text messages
Coaches use PlanASwim team messages to text swimmers and parents about practice changes, cancellations, meets, and team announcements. Texts only go to people who turned them on for their own phone.
How to turn texts on
Sign in
Texts are always your own choice: a coach cannot turn them on for you, and a parent turns them on for their own phone.
Add your mobile number
Add your own number to your profile in Settings or on the Family page, or switch on Text messages in Settings → Notifications for the number already on your profile. The consent wording is right there, and adding the number or switching texts on is agreeing to it.
Get the welcome text
We text the number to say texts are on and how to stop them. Teams you belong to can now text you. Reply STOP at any time.

What you will get
Messages from your coaches and teams: practice changes, team announcements, reminders, and account notices like the welcome text. How often depends on your team; most send a few a month. Every text starts with the team's name. No marketing from other companies, ever.
Riverside Aquatics: Practice is canceled tonight because of lightning. See you Thursday. Reply STOP to opt out.
Riverside Aquatics: Saturday meet warm-ups start at 7:15 AM. Please arrive by 7:00.

Stop or get help
- STOP
- Stops every text from PlanASwim to your number. You get one reply confirming it, and nothing after.
- START
- Turns texts back on after STOP.
- HELP
- Replies with: “PlanASwim team messages: texts from your coaches. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Help: support@planaswim.com. Reply STOP to opt out.”
You can also turn texts off in Settings, or turn off texts from one team and keep the others.
Cost
PlanASwim never charges you to receive texts. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
For coaches
- Texts are metered in points: one point per text segment (about 160 characters).
- Free teams get 50 points a month and Pro teams get 500. They reset each month.
- Need more? Buy 1,000 points for $20. Bought points never expire and are used after the month's points run out.
- You can only text people who turned texts on themselves.
